Competition, Drive, Teamwork, Dedication, and being Coachable are the five things that best describe me, Wyman Lewis II, as a student athlete. Since I was 5 years old, I have played multiple sports at a high level. The toughness of a Youth National Championship football player, a North Houston Baseball Youth League Champion, and a multiple year track athlete has physically and mentally prepared me for the one sport that I love the best, Golf.
I started playing competitive golf at 13 years old and was immediately hooked. Practice, practice, and more practice is something that I could not get enough of in order to put myself in a position to increase my overall knowledge of the game and build a solid foundation that would carry me to the next level of golf quickly. When I made the high school golf team through a tryout for my very competitive high school team, my love for the game made it an easy decision for me to solely focus on Golf as my #1 sport going into high school, even though I had the opportunity to be a main contributor to the football program.
Making the team is only the start at the high school level. Competing with your teammates in order to play weekly tournaments was a thrill during every practice and I was able to play at the JV level as a freshman and am currently competing at the Varsity level at Grand Oaks High School. Golf is all about setting and achieving goals in my eyes and I focus my preparation on what is next in my game and career as a golfer. Playing Golf at the college level is what I am striving for and what I dream about everyday. I know this goal is attainable as long as I stick with the five things that best describe me, Wyman Lewis II.**
